Your chicken is showing.

1. Fried Chicka Bang: Ghostface

Excerpt from the full Fried Chicka Bang post: “This is one poultry lookin’ mother-clucker. Holding it in my hands was like looking at any fast food chicken sandwich on steroids. The Ghostface sandwich is the spiciest on their menu and is comprised of “ghost pepper baste, ancho shake, chipotle mayo, blistered jalapeno.” You can see it to a degree from the picture, but that ancho shake is thicc and just sitting on the chicken, beckoning you closer.” Continue Reading

The chicken is in there, we swear.

2. Urban Meyer’s Pint House: “Hot” Hot Chicken

Excerpt from the full Urban’s Pint House post: “At Urban Meyer’s Pint House, you have the option of “Mild” or “Hot.” Going with the Hot, we weren’t sure what to expect, but the first bite revealed a nice level of heat that we could see being “Hot.” The chicken was thick and juicy, making up for lack of width by being thick. A few bites in had my nose running and I could tell that the cayenne was beginning to tickle my lips. The slaw is a nice offset to the heat and the pickles are just pickles.” Continue Reading

Feels like a lot of mayo.

3. Grandad’s Pizza & Pub: Hot Chicken Sliders

Excerpt from the full Grandad’s Pizza & Pub post: ” I passed one to the Lady of the Farm who took a big ol’ bite, chewed and immediately started flapping her hands. As she opened the fridge to grab something to drink I asked about the spice level. “You can have them,” she said, the universal sign that it was too spicy for her to enjoy. Taking a bite I understood what she meant. The standard cayenne of the Nashville Hot style is heavy and hits hard, carrying it above Wendy’s spicy chicken sandwich levels and elevating the heat” Continue Reading

Spooooky chicken…

4. Melt Bar and Grilled: Voodoo Zombie Jerk Chicken (October only)

Excerpt from the full Melt Bar and Grilled post: “There is a hefty sweetness to this sandwich and I was glad the chicken was pulled instead of a large chicken breast. The smaller chunks made it easier to get a lot of the flavors together. The sweetness of the plantains and marmalade with the tangy taste of the pickled peppers were a great combo and pair nicely with the rest of the sandwich. Heat-wise it’s still not high on our list” Continue Reading

5. Matt & Tony’s Wood Fired Kitchen: Spicy Habanero Chicken Sandwich

Excerpt from the full Matt & Tony’s Wood Fired Kitchen post: “I wondered if the heat would intensify with the sauce being both above and below the sandwich (that’s right, both buns son) but after a few bites, the spiciness remained the same. Low initial heat and then a slight linger. I found myself wanting more of that typical habanero heat I’d come to expect from sauces like Choripan Argentine Grill or the Bru Burger Bar “Melt Your Face” Habanero-based burger.” Continue Reading

6. Nomad: Crispy Chicken Sandwich

Excerpt from the full Nomad post: “The pairing of lime and habanero is a classic citrusy heat combo, but with all the breading of the chicken and buns, it turns into a bit more of the spicy lad that hangs out in the corner of the freshman prom. If you’re looking for it you’ll notice it, otherwise it blends in. Bite to bite, there’s a slight habanero tingle, but no linger and no lasting effects. That’s really it. Not much else to say about the heat of this chicken sandwich other than that.” Continue Reading
