Sauce Tasting Food Truck in Austin – Sauce Odyssey
Earlier this week, we mentioned The Hot Spot in Vancouver that touts over 200 sauces you can try, but what if they took that model and made it mobile? That’s essentially what Sauce Odyssey owner Rod Crosby has done in Austin, TX. It’s a simple food truck with a simple menu, but it’s an excellent idea. The interactive grocery isle concept allows Crosby to rotate sauces as often as he likes, typically “Every three months…with 14 new sauces.” The menu for Sauce Odyssey includes Nachos, rotisserie chicken and the “eggplosion,” a poached egg with fingerling potatoes, romesco sauce, house queso & chives. Stop on by at 1403 E 7th St Austin, Texas to begin your adventure.
Karbach Brewing Releases New Spicy Beer, Hella Chela
There are some things we believe should not be spicy and beer is generally one of them, but since some of you enjoy it, we figured we’d tell you about the new Karbach Brewing Co.’s Hella Chela Spicy Cerveza. According to Elite Daily, it’s a drink made with “lime, grapefruit, pepper sauce, and spice, which bring an unusual amount of heat to each and every can.” Refreshing, maybe? Spicy, definitely. You be the judge and, surprise surprise, you can find it primarily in Texas.
Frank’s Red Hot Teases Hot Sauce-Based Dating App
Being very sneaky with any details, Frank’s released a video highlighting features of a new dating app, similar to Tinder, but for hot sauce lovers. “Swiping right for RedHot, all day long. ❤️ Stay tuned for more info.” With April Fool’s day right around the corner, we expect them to release more details on Monday then say “ha ha, fun jokes”, but it’s really not a terrible idea. Letting fellow spice lords meet each other over hot sauces seems like a decent first date. I guess we’ll see on Monday if it’s for real or not.

Houston Burger Requires Waiver To Eat
Texas is extra spicy this week apparently, as we feature another article about a Houston-based burger joint with the “hottest burger in Texas.” The Little Bitty Burger Barn boasts a burger that claims to be 10 million Scoville heat units with a “Nitro” sauce made up of “arbol peppers, diced dry chilies, crushed red pepper, garlic salt, cayenne pepper, jalapeno salt, liquid capsaicin, five bottles of hot sauces (including a ghost chili sauce and a habanero concentrate), and fresh habaneros.” Does it look like death? Yes. Would we still give the Five Alarm Burger Challenge a try? For the chance to be on the Wall of Fame and for a T-shirt, you better believe it! I mean come on, you get a fireman’s hat and everything.
