Juicymelt Supreme – Ruby Wizard Hot Sauce Feature
Don’t judge a wizard by its robes…or something like that. This week for Too Hot Tuesday we’re featuring a hot sauce maker just a hop skip and a jump down the road in Dayton, OH.
Ruby Wizard – Grapefruit Habanero Hot Sauce Overview
Coming in at a 4 out of 5 on the Juicymelt Supreme heat scale, the Ruby Wizard is a reddish-orange, hopping between the pink-red of grapefruit and the orange of a typical habanero. Seeds and bits of ingredients can be seen throughout the sauce, common in the smaller batch sauces we see. From Juicymelt themselves, “Ruby Wizard is one of the greatest hot sauces ever on eggs!!!”
“Ruby Wizard imbues grapefruit notes into the fold of tropical habanero peppers and savory garlic bliss.”
Ingredients: Habanero, Bell Pepper, Grapefruit Juice, vinegar, lime juice, garlic, onion, salt, black pepper
Can confirm, Ruby Wizard was excellent on eggs. Big fan.

About Juicymelt Supreme Hot Sauce
Founded in 2019 in Dayton, Ohio, Juicymelt Supreme is a woman-owned company created by Tracy and Jeffrey McElfresh. It’s a familiar origin story with a love for a peppers, a background in brewing and a desire to put a product forward that is all natural, locally sourced, and hand made. For five years Jeffrey worked as Brew Master for Yellow Springs Brewery, earning several awards along the way.
Always vegan with no added sugar and gluten-free, Juicymelt Supreme is another hot sauce company that reminds buyers that because it’s small-batch, the real ingredients (which may vary from cook to cook) have the ability to change the color. It’s a common thing that is often overlooked and we like that Juicymelt Supreme reminds folks that it’s a possibility.
The name is a mashup of nods, from the acidity of the fruit, the fruit juices, and the melting of flavors into one supreme sauce.
You can find Juicymelt Supreme hot sauce in 15+ grocers including Tom’s Market in Yellow Springs, Jungle Jim’s in Cincinnati, and multiple locations in Kettering, Centerville and Dayton. Tracy and Jeffrey are also getting their blog going again, posting weekly with thoughts from in and out of the kitchen.
