CaJohns was previously one of the things we loved most about Columbus, OH. A well-decorated small-batch hot sauce maker, John “CaJohn” Hard founded the business after years of cooking and experimenting for friends and family.
He’s left a lasting impression on us and while we were sad to see him sell to Hot Shots Distributing, he did so with over 150 sauces and spicy food products in his arsenal. We also still consider CaJohns as a Columbus-based operation. If you decide otherwise you can fight us.
CaJohns still appears to be heavily involved in the Columbus community, helping spawn the first Columbus Fiery Foods Festival taking place August 10th, 2019. We’ve signed up for a few of the events, including the Hot Wing Challenge and the Amateur Sauce and Salsa makers contest. We’ve reviewed some of his sauces including the Hydra and the restaurant style Small Batch Habanero Pepper Sauce and enjoy a lot of what he produced. His mythical creature lineup is one of our favorite themed sauce series’ of all time.
So many sauces, so little time! The Flavor & Fire shop in North Market is a great place to catch the latest items from CaJohns, along with other select sauces including Bravado Spice Co and many others.
