The small batch sauce can be found all over, but this specific bottle was procured at Flavor and Fire at the North Market in Columbus, OH. When looking at the sauce, you can see a good amount of the ingredients inside and notice how liquidy the sauce is. The appearance is fairly basic, but appealing overall. The pepper fragments that remain are not overwhelming and the color is a dark red.

Primary ingredients of this particular sauce are as follows: Vinegar, Chile Peppers, Sugar, Salt, Garlic, Black Pepper, Spices, Lemon Extract. Overall the flavors blend well, but the sugar feels unnecessary. The lemon extract gives a sweet enough taste to the sauce.

The heat of the CaJohns Habanero hot sauce is right on target with what we were expecting out of a habanero sauce. Not so much that it hurts, but enough to grab you by the collar and give you a good shake.

We’re big fans of clear labels, so the label for this sauce was right in line with what we enjoy.
