Fartley Farms Wins Golden Chile at Zestfest 2021
I know, we were surprised too!
After entering into the Fiery Food Challenge for ZestFest 2021 in May, we learned this weekend that our Scorpion Garlic hot sauce took home top honors (aka the Golden Chile award) in the Ultra Hot category. With over 800 entries into this category, we are extremely honored to be on the podium with big names like Karma Sauce (2nd place for Burn After Eating) and Bravado Spice Co. (3rd place for Ancho Masala Scorpion Reaper hot sauce).
Our Scorpion Garlic sauce also took home a 3rd place award in the Trinidad Pepper Sauce category, with Burning Angel “B+” taking the Golden Chile and Karma Sauce’s Scorpion Disco taking 2nd place.
You can find the full list of award winners from the Fiery Food Challenge site or by clicking here.
Special thanks to all of the judges that had to work their way through so many sauces over the weekend. We can’t imagine what their mornings after were like.
We also wanted to take a moment to thank our co-packers at MadStone USA, Mike and Deb, for all their help over the last year. They’ve been great partners and garnered some awards of their own at ZestFest this year. In the Exotic BBQ category, Flavor and Fire took 3rd place for their Black Garlic BBQ, 2nd place in the Exotic Mild/Medium hot sauce category for their Columbus Black Garlic Hot Sauce, and 2nd place in the Chipotle Salsa category for their Raspberry Chipotle Salsa.
Excited to be with great company and looking for to heading down to ZestFest in 2022.
If you’d like to sample our Scorpion Garlic hot sauce and are in the Columbus area, you can generally find it at the North Market Flavor and Fire store out on the sample trays or you can head to the Powell Farmer’s Market on Sundays from now until October, located at 9721 Sawmill Rd, Powell, OH 43065.
