UK Curry Fans Enjoy Spicy Savings

Morrisons, a major grocer in the UK, has chopped its hottest curry prices by 45%. Now, if you’re not in the UK you probably aren’t excited, but we had to share the two curries. Volcanic Vindaloo, ” featuring the Naga chilli – one of the world’s hottest with a Scoville rating of up to one million” and Flaming Fiery Phal, made with scorpion and Naga chiles. We’re jealous of these hot curries, and even more jealous that they can be taken home for just shy of $2.00.

Hellboy Promotional Hot Sauce

Heatonist is all over the hot sauce landscape and this coming week, they will be releasing a Hellboy Hot Sauce in collaboration with Lionsgate to promote the new movie. The sauce’s primary pepper is the 7 Pot Primo, with a bit of the Trinidad scorpion. Bottles will retail at $14.00 and become available on the Heatonist site 3/23.

Why We Like It Hot

Big Think did a piece this week on why we enjoy spicy foods. It’s especially curious because we “are the only animals known to willingly eat foods that cause irritation, discomfort, and even pain.” The article gets fairly in depth as to how Capsaicin affects our bodies and our brains, something Dr. Ryan will speak to at a later time. So why do you eat the spicy foods?

Shaq Appears on Hot Ones

Shaquille O’Neil is a big man, but can he handle the spicy wings? Snotty Pippen at his finest, the big man and former genie takes on the spicy spread.

Putt Putt Bet Takes Down PGA Caddie With Reaper Chip

What’s better, a bug or a Paqui Carolina Reaper Madness chip? Geon Bonnalie, caddie to Joel Dahmen would probably say “bug” at this point. The caddie lost a putt putt match with Dahmen and during a Caddie Competition this past week Bonnalie ate the chip before teeing off at the 17th hole. After his initial shot, Bonnalie “had to kneel for several minutes to recover.” You can see his initial reaction in the video below.
